This project's main goal was to ensure its integration to the existing building, an early work from the french architect Jean de Mailly. Thanks to its form and tone, a dark navy blue inspired by the former construction's metalworks, this extension blends into the building's expression without mimicking it. Our work also included the complete refurbishment of the apartment. On the upper floor, the kitchen & dining room are now facing a terrace overlooking the parisian cityscape. At this level, we used dark colors to emphasize the link between what was inside and outside of the extension. On the level below, we took advantage of the building's Modernist structure to reconfigure the dwelling's partitions entirely. While doing so, we prioritized the use of light tones as a reference to the former construction's iconic white concrete.
